I went to our office holiday party this past weekend. What I am about to tell you is not a joke. This is really what it was like.
A male VP in the company came dressed up like Prince (with the military thing going). His boyfriend showed up with a similar uniform and the two slow danced while exchanging kisses.
Several women wore slinky nighties. Two went up on stage and rubbed their crotches on the leg of the lead singer of the band that we had performing (they were drunk). Another guy wore a backless dress and slow danced with his boyfriend.
These are just a few of the scenes at our office party. After the party, I heard no rumors Trouwjurk Lange Mouw about anyone's behavior. Just goes to show that not all offices are stuffy, or perhaps New England is more progressive than the rest of the country.

At one of our office holiday parties, the "surprise" entertainment was a cross dresser. Really? You can't give a girl some warning on that? Apparently, it never occurred to the owner that a cross dresser might be inappropriate in mixed company. So no, it's not just New England.
Back to dress codes, Vloer Lengte Avondjurken at this same party we got the dreaded "festive casual" on the invite. There was much discussion around the office to decide what it meant. We all ended up wearing informal dresses for females, slacks and vloer-length avondjurken button down shirts for men.
